Art collector and app creator Hélène Nguyen-Ban’s favourite things
The Docent founder on Alaïa jeans, Plaq chocolate and ‘the Elon Musk of Africa’ Art collector and app creator Hélène Nguyen-Ban has created a collection of artworks, 1,000 artists and 100 partner galleries, spanning 28 countries and five continents. Her style signifier is a mix of rings that she has welded on at Le Bon Marché and she sleeps with them on. Her favourite souvenirs are a painting by a young Italian-Ethiopian artist, Jem Perucchini, and her favourite place in the world is Hanoi. She also loves the fusion of Asian and European architectural styles, its romantic lakes and the legendary Metropole Hotel. The best gifts she has received recently are Dusk and Dawn, two tinctures by musician Rose Rose.
