Vietnam draws fresh interest from Bain Capital after Masan deal

HANOI -- U.S.-based investment firm Bain Capital is betting big on Vietnam after closing its first investment in the country. It recently bought around $200 million of local conglomerate Masan Group's convertible shares.

"Vietnam is one of the most exciting markets in Southeast Asia," said Sarit Chopra, a partner with Bain Capital's Special Situations business.
