Northern Vietnam gets whiff of cold air

The mass of cold air is expected to reach the eastern parts of northern Vietnam Monday night, before coming for the northern parts of central Vietnam and certain areas in the west of northern Vietnam, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.
U.S. weather forecast service AccuWeather said Hanoi would see temperatures between 24-31 degrees on Tuesday, and 22-26 degrees on Wednesday. High-altitude locations like Lao Cai's Sa Pa would see temperatures between 15-20 degrees.
The northern parts of central Vietnam would also be affected by the cold air, seeing temperatures between 25-27 degrees on average. Central Vietnam areas, the Central Highlands and southern Vietnam are expected to see rain levels between 10-60 mm in the next three days, mostly at dusk and at night.
Heavy rains may cause inundation in low-lying areas, as well as floods and landslides in mountainous areas.
Masses of cold air are expected to be stronger and more frequent this month, meteorologists said.
